I stand alone on the cape where rough waves crash
When I was a young boy around the time when I dreamt many things
Though many springs and autumns have passed by since then
Oh Inubōsaki, the way I
Live my life, even now, now, still hasn't changed

Are the Japanese roses of Kimigahama blooming again this year
Are the fishermen singing the Big Catch bushis*?
Tonight, for some reason I'm very homesick
Oh Inubōsaki, your light
I want you to deliver it to those lost wandering inside the era

I wonder if my elderly father is in good health
This summer I want to go home around the time of the festival
Kurohai Nagasaki Ashikajima even the rowdy seabirds
Oh Inubōsaki a bit more
I will walk, blown by the wind

*Bushi is a type of Japanese folk song often heard during local festivals.

Gen Tetsuya(弦哲也)

Gen Tetsuya(弦哲也) is a famous composer who composed over 2000 songs.

In 1965, he made is debut as a singer using the stage name Tamura Shinji(田村進二).

In 1968, he changed his stage name to Gen Tetsuya(弦哲也). Gen(弦) comes from the strings of the guitar he loves so much. Tetsuya(哲也) is a play on words with "pulling a all-nighter(徹夜 tetsuya)" because he spent an entire night trying to come up with this name.

In 1976, he made his debut as a composer when Naitō Kunio(内藤國雄) sang "Oyuki(おゆき)."

In 1980, Kawanaka Miyuki(川中美幸) sang anther song he wrote, "Sake for Two(ふたり酒 Futarizake)," which became a hit. As a result, he was finally able to move from an apartment which didn't have a bathtub to a house with a bathtub.
