Jōmon Fire Festival(Jōmon Himatsuri 縄文炎祭) by Takegawa Miko(竹川美子)

Is it a dream, mirage or is it something real
The lovely smile is beautiful
The refreshing look
Makes the life bloom, a feast of flowers
Burning, burning the field, crawling on the ground
The white cloth, painted in flames
The dancing goddess gently burns herself
I pray to the Jōmon Fire Festival

Thinking about a season passed a long time ago
One day turning into an ancient bird
Elegantly like a goddess
In Funagata where the kobushi magnolias bloom
In the season when the fires color the area
The flames of love, I hide in my heart
To the Oguni's river I gently place my hands together
I pray to the Jōmon Fire Festival

Burning, burning the field, crawling on the ground
The white cloth, painted in flames
The dancing goddess gently burns herself
I pray to the Jōmon Fire Festival

Like the incoming ship, people came by
On an outgoing ship there was someone resembling you
Just like a port, this store
The wandering ship called "you (dear)"
There is a seagull waiting for you
Getting drunk in a tavern called  "Port"

At least one night, to this knee
Won't you lower your anchors here
An innocent love where such things can't be said
The back alley light where the enka spills out
There is a seagull who is pouting yet again today
Getting drunk in a tavern called  "Port"

If I had been drinking with lonely eyes
Will you ask me what's wrong
I am holding the cold wintry wind to my chest
Remembering fondly the single memory
There is a seagull who is crying again today
Getting drunk in a tavern called  "Port"

Takegawa Miko(竹川美子)

Takegawa Miko(竹川美子) started singing enka when she was at an early age encouraged by her father. She started entering many karaoke contests even at this early age.

In 1997, she became composer Kanō Gendai(叶弦大)'s apprentice and studied under him for six years.

She made her professional debut in 2003 with the single "The Woman from Edzuriko(江釣子(えづりこ)のおんな Edzurikono On'na)."

In 2006, she won the Japan Composer's Association award at the 48th Japan Record Awards.
