Passing through a crimson-colored gate
Snow covered stairs which lead to a temple
The hem reveals the crimson colored crape
A lone woman climbs
Is someone waiting for her or is she going to a Buddhist prayer
Maybe a rendezvous or going to a hyakudo(mairi)*
The word two, the word two, geta prints
The snow's dance which hides, a lady's dance, oh...a lady's dance

Frolicking on the unlined kimono's collar
Surrounding the firefly, the bonfire
Clinging on, as if regretting
A lone woman stares
What is she hesitating about, whether to break off
Painful love or giving up
To the night's silence, the rustling of the clothes
The bamboo leaf's wind dance, a lady's dance, oh...a lady's dance

Where is she going, is she eloping
Is she holding it close and taking it along or throwing it away
Entangled to the bare feet the red strings of the geta
Kyoto flower dance, a lady's dance, oh...a lady's dance

*hyakudo(mairi) - going to pray a hundred times

The Lovers' Cape(恋人岬 Koibito Misaki) by Mizumori Kaori(水森かおり)

Is that day which had passed by a mirage
I still have many memories that won't fade away
To a woman who lost her way from love
Even the name feels sorrowful, the Lover's Cape
The end of the journey, Suruga Bay
The regrets pile up as many as the number of, number of waves

At times a woman can be selfish but
You always forgave me with a laugh
Your large wide chests
Were my small hometown
At the break in the clouds on Mt. Fuji
Gently, gently, I pray for your happiness

I feel like I can start walking tomorrow
The distant sunset which waves me goodbye
If I dry my tears, the cosmos
Gently smile, the Lover's Cape
The love, from now on, to memories
Even against the biting, biting wind, changing it to my courage

The parting letter I wrote in tears
You must have received it by now
Alone on the Yamato Path holding onto my loneliness
Looking up at Mount Miwa, the season's winds...
I won't turn back, that love
I will seal in my heart, seal in my heart, and live my life

The happiness from loving, the loneliness, the hardships
You taught me all that
The flowery Yamato Path, the valley of Sakurai
Everyone wants warmth...
When I finish this journey
To that day, to that day, I can say goodbye

I was fortunate to have met you
Finally, now, I can say, from the bottom of my heart
Alone on the Yamato Path, the tori'i at Ōmiwa Shrine
Forgetting the time, I am lost in my thoughts...
To that song composed by the ancients years ago
I overlap my dreams, overlap my dreams and can continue to walk my life

Just loving each other isn't enough for us to be joined
Our love, dead end
To cut off these painful thoughts
Sanin Main Line* travelling alone
Blurred by rain Lake Shinji**
Regretful woman's tears... tears.. invite the tears

Watching the Candle Island*** from the tour boat
The flames of the setting sun are now lit
Praying for happiness the lovers
That day that passed both of us
If I mutter, "Everything is a dream"
Touched the core of my heart alone... alone... cold being alone

Heart to heart the string that ties
This time I won't cut it, won't untie it
Beyond the clouds if the light shines
Shimane love journey towards tomorrow
Meeting (for the first time), feeling, meeting (again)
Fate is forever smile... smile... happy to see the smile

*Sanin Main Line is a Japanese railway connecting Kyoto to Shimonoseki.
**Lake Shinji is a lake in northeast Shimane Prefecture.
***Candle Island is an uninhabited island in Dōgojima.

Mizumori Kaori(水森かおり)

While in junior high school, Mizumori Kaori(水森かおり) entered the Chiba TV Karaoke Contest"(千葉テレビカラオケ大賞 Chiba Terebi Karaoke Taishō)" and came in third place.

She attended and graduated from Josai Junior College(城西大学女子短期大学部 Jōsai Daigaku Joshi Tankidaigakubu) and studied classes to prepare her for a job working as a secretary. She also studied in the United States. During her stay in the United States, she became infatuated with Joey Mcintyre from the New Kids on the Block. Before she left, she sang a song for the host family members who were delighted. This experience gave her enough courage to audition for a recording company.

In 1995, she made her professional debut with the song "Mirabilis jalpa(おしろい花 oshiroibana)."

In 2003, her single "Tottori Sand Dunes(鳥取砂丘 Tottorisakyū)" became a big hit, and she ended up singing in her first Kōhaku Utagassen. She has sung in all subsequent Kōhaku Utagassen shows since then (as of 2014).

The Northern District in Tokyo(東京都北区 Tōkyōto Kitaku) designated her as the ambassador for the district.

In 2010, Matsushima City (松島町 Matsushima Machi) in Miyagi Prefecture also designated her as the sightseeing ambassador of that city  after she released the song "Matsushima Travelogue(松島紀行 Matsushima Kikō)."

She has worked as a honorary one-day station master for the East Japan Railway Company(東日本旅客鉄道株式会社 Higashi Nihon Ryokaku Tetsudō Kabushiki Gaisha)'s Gonō Line (五能線 Gonōsen).

She is known as the "Queen of Songs about Cities(ご当地ソングの女王 Gotōchi Songuno Jō'ō)." Whenever she releases a song about a particular location, the number of tourists to that area increases. As a result, people from all over Japan have asked her to write songs about their towns. Because of this, she spends a great deal of time studying information about the locations she is scheduled to visit for business for the first time.

Her nickname is Mimorin(みもりん).

She has run into awkward situations because she is offered alcoholic beverages (perhaps because she is an enka singer), even though alcohol does not agree with her body.
