Showa Rope Noren(昭和縄のれん Shōwa Nawanoren) by Hashiri Yūsuke(走裕介)

A rope noren* in a rustic alley
A yakitori should be savored all the way to the corner of the world
Whether sour or sweet, he chewed and connoisseured
My dad's insistence on perfection I now understand

Sake and women, you should stop at two gō
Saying completely worthless jokes
When drunk he sometimes laughed
He was a man who loved having his sake poured for him

Don't live getting in someone's way
Don't live pushing past others
He worked and feigned stubbornness
A dad like that, even now quietly
A rope noren* where he might be drinking

While working unbearable things
My dad must have experienced many times
But he lived through his life sticking to strict principles
And the Showa era closed its curtains

Between my mom and dad
Rough winds very slightly blew through
Whenever they blew, the rope noren*
It was a place where he could escape for a while

Don't live getting into someone's way
Don't live pushing past others
He worked and feigned stubbornness
A dad like that, even now quietly
A rope noren* where he might be drinking

A dad like that, even now quietly
A rope noren* where he might be drinking

*Noren are Japanese fabric dividers often hung in front of a traditional Japanese store's entrance door.

A Vagabond's Nagareuta(風来ながれ唄 Fūrai Nagareuta) by Hashiri Yūsuke(走裕介)

I went on a journey to look for my dream
I have come very far
There were days when I drowned myself in sake
Telling myself that I'm a lost cause

I'm clumsy and I'm not likeable and
I'm unrefined and I'm lazy

But somehow I lived up to this point
I want to praise myself
But somehow I lived up to this point
A vagabond's *nagareuta

To that man whom I'm indebted to
I can't remember when but repaying that debt
He helped me quench that thirst
That single cup of water

Children becomes parents
And those children also become parents

But somehow I lived up to this point
With my wife along
It seems like there's still something more
A vagabond's *nagareuta

I'm clumsy and I'm not likeable and
I'm unrefined and I'm lazy

But somehow I lived up to this point
I want to praise myself
But somehow I lived up to this point
A vagabond's *nagareuta

*Nagareuta is a song often sung by wanderers.

Hashiri Yūsuke(走裕介)

Hashiri Yūsuke(走裕介) was born into a family of farmers.

In 1997, Hashiri Yūsuke(走裕介) appeared on "Cross Japan Karaoke Dojo(日本縦断カラオケ道場 Nihon Jūdan Karaoke Dōjō)" and started entering karaoke singing contests afterwards.

In 1999, he sent a demo tape to Funamura Tōru(船村徹) and the composer decided to take in Yūsuke as his student. Although Yūsuke's family was against this idea, Yūsuke himself along with several others managed to convince his family to let Yūsuke enter the entertainment industry.

In 2009, Yūsuke made his debut with "Train Station of Ice Floes(流氷の駅 Ryūhyōno Eki)." The name Hashiri comes from the name of his home town Abashiri City(網走市) in Hokkaido.

At the 54th Japan Record Awards in 2012 , he won the Japan Composer's Association Award.
