Atsumi Jirō is a veteran enka singer whose fifth single, "Dream Chasing Sake(夢追い酒 Yume Oi Zake)" sold over 2.8 million copies.
In 1989, he was diagnosed with Linitis plastica, a type of stomach cancer, but survived and has since recovered.
