In 1973, Kawanaka Miyuki(川中美幸) made her debut with Warner Music Japan Inc. singing "Shinjuku Angel(新宿天使 Shinjuku Tenshi)"with the stage name Kasuga Harumi(春日はるみ), but failed to attract attention.
She switched recording companies to Teichiku Entertainment, Inc. and her stage name to Kawanaka Miyuki(川中美幸) in 1977, making her second debut with the song "Desperate for You(あなたに命がけ Anatani Inochigake)."
In 1980, she started appearing as a personality on Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Inc.(文化放送 Bunkahōsō)'s late night program Hino's Midnight Graffitti Run! Kayōkyoku(日野ミッドナイトグラフィティ 走れ!歌謡曲 Hi no Middonaito Gurafiti hashire! Kayōkyoku). She sung "Sake for Two(ふたり酒 Futarizake)" on that show, which would go on to reach number 9 on the Oricon chart and sell over 1 million copies.
In 2007, the last company in the world who continued to make LaserDiscs, Memory-Tech Corporation, printed its last copy of LaserDisc, and the last disc the company printed was Kawanaka Miyuki's "Rain at Kanazawa(金沢の雨 Kanazawano Ame)."
She appeared on Kōhaku Utagassen from 1981 to 1987, from 1990 to 1992, and from 1998 to 2011.
