Uesugi Kaori(上杉香緒里) made her professional debut in 1995 with BGM Japan singing the single "Wind(風群（かぜ） Kaze)." She switched companies to Teichiku Entertainment in 1999 after BGM Japan stopped supporting enka singers.
She is a member of the singing unit "Rainbow Rabbit Group(レインボーうさぎ組 Reinbō Usagi Gumi)," a group of singers all born in the year of the rabbit, along with Nagai Miyuki(永井みゆき) and Yamaguchi Hiromi(山口ひろみ).
In 2013, she was appointed the PR ambassador for Tsubame City(燕市 Tsubameshi).
