Mongun(モングン) moved his primary singing activities to Japan from South Korea in 2005.
In 2006, he made his Japanese professional debut with the single "Jongara Couple Bushi(じょんがら夫婦節 Jongara Fūfubushi)."
In 2011, he changed his stage name to Mongun(モングン).
In 2012, he won Nippon Crown Co, Ltd.'s newcomer's award.
