Mikasa Yūko(三笠優子)

Mikasa Yūko(三笠優子) started studying rōkyoku from Matsudaira Kunijūrō(松平国十郎) but had to stop due to her illness.

Her song "The Dragon of Dokai Bay(洞海湾の竜 Dōkaiwan'no Ryū)" became popular and she made her professional debut with the song in 1977 with RCA Records, Inc.

Three of her songs with married couple as a theme, "Couple Ship(夫婦舟 Fūfu Bune)," "Couple River(夫婦川 Fūfu Gawa)," and "Couple Bridge(夫婦橋 Fūfu Bashi)" became popular.

She was married and had three children before her professional debut, but the recording company decided to keep her marriage a secret at the time. Her husband passed away in a traffic accident before Fūfu Bashi was released.

In the 24th Japan Record Awards, Fūfu Bune won the long seller award.

In the recent years, she was treated for hepatitis and suffered from bouts of depression.
