The SHIGOTONIN was a trio formed for a limited-time basis for the TV show "Sure Death! 2009 (『必殺仕事人2009』 Hissatsu Shigotonin 2009)."
The group consisted of three of the cast members from the show, Higashiyama Noriyuki(東山紀之), Matsuoka Masahiro(松岡昌宏), and Ōkura Tadayoshi(大倉忠義).
They only released one CD, which contained two songs: "As Unreachable as the Moon or Flower in a Reflection(鏡花水月 Kyōka Suigetsu.)" which was used as the ending theme for the TV show, and "Until the Tears Run Dry(涙枯れるまで Namida Karerumade)" along with their karaoke versions.
The limited edition of the CD also contained a DVD with a music video to Kyōka Suigetsu and the video showing the making of the music video.
Kyōka Suigetsu reached the second spot on the Oricon chart.
