Fukuda Kōhei(福田こうへい)'s father is the Japanese folk music singer Fukuda Iwatsuki(福田岩月).
He also started out as a folk music singer and won the 25th Japanese Folk Music Festival in 2012.
He worked at a dry goods store before he made his debut with "Southern Chorus of Cicadas(南部蝉しぐれ Nanbu Semishigure)" in October of 2012. The song reached the top of the Oricon enka chart, and reached eighth overall on the Oricon comprehensive chart.
Kitajima Saburō(北島三郎) called him Mihashi Michiya(三橋美智也) of the Heisei era.
