Mizumori Kaori(水森かおり)

While in junior high school, Mizumori Kaori(水森かおり) entered the Chiba TV Karaoke Contest"(千葉テレビカラオケ大賞 Chiba Terebi Karaoke Taishō)" and came in third place.

She attended and graduated from Josai Junior College(城西大学女子短期大学部 Jōsai Daigaku Joshi Tankidaigakubu) and studied classes to prepare her for a job working as a secretary. She also studied in the United States. During her stay in the United States, she became infatuated with Joey Mcintyre from the New Kids on the Block. Before she left, she sang a song for the host family members who were delighted. This experience gave her enough courage to audition for a recording company.

In 1995, she made her professional debut with the song "Mirabilis jalpa(おしろい花 oshiroibana)."

In 2003, her single "Tottori Sand Dunes(鳥取砂丘 Tottorisakyū)" became a big hit, and she ended up singing in her first Kōhaku Utagassen. She has sung in all subsequent Kōhaku Utagassen shows since then (as of 2014).

The Northern District in Tokyo(東京都北区 Tōkyōto Kitaku) designated her as the ambassador for the district.

In 2010, Matsushima City (松島町 Matsushima Machi) in Miyagi Prefecture also designated her as the sightseeing ambassador of that city  after she released the song "Matsushima Travelogue(松島紀行 Matsushima Kikō)."

She has worked as a honorary one-day station master for the East Japan Railway Company(東日本旅客鉄道株式会社 Higashi Nihon Ryokaku Tetsudō Kabushiki Gaisha)'s Gonō Line (五能線 Gonōsen).

She is known as the "Queen of Songs about Cities(ご当地ソングの女王 Gotōchi Songuno Jō'ō)." Whenever she releases a song about a particular location, the number of tourists to that area increases. As a result, people from all over Japan have asked her to write songs about their towns. Because of this, she spends a great deal of time studying information about the locations she is scheduled to visit for business for the first time.

Her nickname is Mimorin(みもりん).

She has run into awkward situations because she is offered alcoholic beverages (perhaps because she is an enka singer), even though alcohol does not agree with her body.
