Miyama Hiroshi(三山ひろし)

The stage name Miyama Hiroshi(三山ひろし) comes from Miyama(three mountains) because the prefecture he grew up in, Kōchi Prefecture(高知県), is surrounded by three mountains, and from his teacher Nakamura Tenshō(中村典正)'s alternate name Yamaguchi Hiroshi(山口ひろし).

When he was 23 years old, he moved to Tokyo hoping to become a singer.

He worked as a waiter at Matsumae Hiroko(松前ひろ子)'s restaurant. Matsumae Hiroko(松前ひろ子) is an enka singer and Kitajima Saburō(北島三郎)'s cousin.

In 2004, he entered and won the NHK Amateur Singing Contest(NHK のど自慢 NHK Nodo Jiman) held in Kōchi Prefecture(高知県). He then studied under Matsumae Hiroko(松前ひろ子)'s husband and composer Nakamura Tenshō(中村典正).

In 2007, he was the runner-up in the Nippon Crown's 45th Anniversary Memorial Newcomers' Audition(クラウン創立45周年記念新人オーディション Kuraun Sōritsu 45 Shūnen Kinen Shinjin Ōdishon).

In 2009, he made his debut with "Hitokoi(Yearning to Meet Someone) Tavern(人恋酒場 Hitokoi Sakaba)." In September 2010, Hitokoi Tavern had sold over 100,000 copies, and he was awarded the gold record for achieving this sales milestone.

In 2011, at the 53rd Japan Record Awards(第53回日本レコード大賞 Dai Gojūsankai Nihon Rekōdo Taishō), he won the Japanese Composers' Association Award(日本作曲家協会奨励賞 Nihon Sakkyokka Kyōkai Shōreishō).
