Mori Konomi(杜このみ)

Mori Konomi(杜このみ) started studying and singing min'yō* when she was four years old.

When she was in sixth grade, she won the youth division of "Esashi Oiwake National Competition(江差追分全国大会 Esashi Oiwake Zenkoku Taikai)," the youngest ever to win the prize at the time.

She continued to win various singing competitions, and in 2007, she sung in the "Let's Go! Min'yō Songs Festival(それいけ!民謡うた祭り Sore ike! Min'yō uta matsuri)" and caught the attention of Hosokawa Takashi(細川たかし) and became his student.

In 2012, she appeared on and won the "Find the Radio Star!!(ラジオスターを探せ!! Rajiosutā wo Sagase!!)" contest hosted by the STV Radio Broadcasting Co. Ltd."STVラジオ Esu Tī Bui Rajio." As a result, May 22, 2013, she started starring a regular radio show broadcast by STV Radio called "Mori Konomi "Fluffy" Song's Journey(杜このみ"ふわり"うたの旅 Mori Konomi" fuwari" uta no tabi)."

In 2013, she sang Min'yō songs at Carnegie Hall. The same year, she made her recording debut with Teichiku Entertainment, Inc. with the song "Shamisen Migratory Bird(三味線わたり鳥 Shamisen Wataridori)" which won the New Artist's Award at the 55th Japan Record Awards.

*Min'yō is a type of Japanese folk music.
