Ōkawa Eisaku(大川栄策) was a fan of Murata Hideo(村田英雄) when he was younger.
He became composer Koga Masao(古賀政男)'s apprentice right after graduating from high school. In fact, he was Koga Masao's last apprentice.
In 1969, he made is professional debut with Nippon Columbia Co., Ltd. singing the song "Eyeless Plover(目ン無い千鳥 Men'naichidori)," which became a revival hit.
Recently he has been composing and releasing songs using the pen name Chikushi Ryūhei(筑紫竜平).
He has appeared on Kōhaku Utagassen four times, from 1983 to 1986.
