Maki Kotomi(真木ことみ)

Maki Kotomi(真木ことみ)  grew up singing from an early age. The first song she sang was Ishikawa Sayuri's "The Wintry Scenery of Tsugaru Strait(津軽海峡冬景色 Tsugarukaikyō Fuyugeshiki)."

She first entered singing contests after starting high school and won numerous awards.

She made her professional debut in 1991 with the single "The Melancholic Dōshi River (哀愁の道志川 Aishū no Dōshigawa)." From the start, the professional baseball player Nakahata Kiyoshi(中畑清) has been a huge fan of her.

She had arteriovenous fistula in her left leg and walked using a crutch when started singing. She had a surgery in May of 1992 to amputate the lower left portion of her leg and now walks around with a prosthetic left leg.
